Head Start
"Head Start" is a comprehensive preschool education program to strengthen not only the young child, but the entire family.The program gives families who are living in poverty access to services that were previously unattainable and helps the families move toward self-suffiency.

There are 8 Family Service Workers who work one on one with the Head Start Families to assist them in planning for and obtaining self-sufficiency. Mental Health and Nutrition also vital in the Head Start experience. Head Start provides extensive services to children with special needs.
Johnston-Lee-Harnett community Action Head Start is offered in various locations in Johnston and Lee counties. Our agency does not run the Head Start Program in Harnett count
